Founder, Director, and Health Psychologist, Sarah, has dedicated over a decade to understanding how to best support the psychological health and wellbeing of individuals and organisations. Her career journey is highlighted by her longstanding role in a national occupational health and rehabilitation organisation, where she played an integral part in the growth and development of the psychology team. She has been pivotal in building strategic relationships with businesses to promote psychological health and wellbeing in workplaces around Australia. Sarah’s leadership skills, strategic vision, and dedication to compassionate care make her a true asset in the field of allied health.  

Sarah is approachable, grounded and deeply committed to people. She takes great pride in supporting her clients and her team, helping them to grow and progress. Sarah finds her involvement in people’s lives and experiences to be real privilege.

Danielle

Our Principal Psychologist, Danielle is passionate about helping adults navigate life's challenges and major transitions. She has an energetic and systemic approach to supporting people and teams to improve their functioning. Danielle’s warm and empathetic approach is grounded in a broad professional background in health and business. 

Danielle is committed to supporting psychological rehabilitation by using person-centred, evidence-based assessments and interventions alongside a collaborative approach to communicating with external stakeholders. She draws on her experience as a Workplace Rehabilitation Provider to support all stakeholders with case management of compensable physical and psychological conditions. Danielle strives to help facilitate durable and sustainable return to work outcomes, supporting and preventing the psychological impact of injury on individuals and the public. With a holistic framework, her strengths are in her ability to sit with the concern at hand, but to also zoom out and see the whole person, and the ecosystem they exist in.  

Danielle is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space for all individuals, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds and the LGBTQI+ community. Guided by strong values, she encourages openness, curiosity, and genuine connection to support and explore new ways of thinking.

Annie

Annie is the warm and grounding presence you will meet first at The Health Effort. With a background spanning medical administration and specialist clinical settings, she brings a calm sense of order and genuine care to every interaction.

Currently completing her Master of Psychology (Sport & Exercise) at the University of Queensland, Annie's curiosity about people and what shapes their wellbeing runs through everything she does. She understands the world of allied health from both sides of the desk, having worked across fast-paced medical environments where confidentiality, integrity, and compassion matter deeply.

She is passionate about making the experience of reaching out as easy as possible, knowing that one less thing to navigate can mean a lot when life is already full.

Psychologist & Health Psychology Registrar

Alyssa

Alyssa brings a person centred and strengths-based approach to her role as Health Psychology Registrar at The Health Effort.

She has experience working across community, hospital and pain management settings, and has also worked with First Nations communities. In addition to her clinical practice, Alyssa has worked in research roles, conducting health studies that prioritise the voices, knowledge, and experiences of individuals. This work informs her practice through implementing evidence-based interventions, and supporting a commitment to collaboration, respect and empowerment. Alyssa also draws on her background working in the disability sector, bringing her understanding of person-centred and strengths-based care to therapeutic support.

Alyssa has a deep understanding of how to work with diverse populations with complex health and psychosocial needs, and aims to create safe, respectful and compassionate therapeutic environment where individuals feel heard. Her approach helps individuals feel supported, and acknowledges their unique strengths, as well as the importance of family and community support for health and wellbeing.
